Martha Minerva (ミネルバ マーサ, Mineruba Māsa), usually addressed by her last name, Minerva, is a Defense Member of Venus, fulfilling the same role as Celia. She is the most powerful member of Venus; in fact, her power is so strong that Minori ranks her as beyond SS, placing her as the most powerful known ability user. She usually walks around with her eyes closed, although due to her abilities she still possesses an awareness of her surroundings, as she can still see anything possessing Element through her eyelids.
Appearance[]
Minerva possesses great beauty. Like Shiria, she is of medium height, with long, light blue hair, featuring two large bangs tied at the ends, framing both sides of her face.
Her most notable trait is that she almost always keeps her eyes closed, due to the element in her eyelids, but she still knows what's going on around her. When she opens her eyes, you can see they're a beautiful green. Occasionally, her eyes glow from the element she possesses.
She wears the standard Venus Academy uniform, and later the Tenbi Academy first-year uniform. In both cases, she accompanies these uniforms with a large beret. The beret varies in color depending on the uniform, being red for Venus Academy and blue for Tenbi Academy. Minerva also always carries a white cane with a gold handle.
Personality[]
Minerva seems to have the personality of a perverted teenage boy, often thinking along the same lines as Kengo Usui. She makes the clothes of Haruko, Inaho, and Azuki disappear during their fight with Venus, declaring herself as the Master of Lingerie. She also tells Himegami that she has come to like the school and all its breasts.
She initially appears as a carefree airhead, who likes to keep her eyes closed in order to appear more mature.
She also cares deeply about her teammates, in particular becoming very panicked when it appeared that Himegami's fireball would kill Akaya.

Like the other members of Venus, Minerva carries a Jingu rather than a Maken. Her Jingu is Aegis.
Aegis - Allows Minerva to open doors to other dimensions, allowing objects to move freely between them. She can make her limbs disappear and reappear in the current dimension in order to stop physical attacks. She can also create barriers that utilize dimensions.
In addition to this, Minerva's power is greatly enhanced by her ability to produce an inexhaustible amount of elemental energy from her eyes. This means that Aegis can be used anywhere within close proximity to her, and Aegis is activated due to the excess elemental energy.
Unlimited Element - Minerva is known for the unlimited amount of Element emanating from her eyes. In fact, when she opens her eyes, she emits an inexhaustible stream of Element capable of enveloping everyone and creating an area where she can use more powers.

- She is shown to be bisexual. In chapter 11, she is flirting with Akaya and fantasizing about men discovering her in the nude whilst at a co-ed dorm, she also is implied to have a liking towards Japanese girls the most. (Fantasizing about breasts in chapter 12, talking about how cute they are at various times, etc.) This is further compounded in chapter 35 when she hits on a woman (Kimi) and a boy (Usui) at the same time.
- Minori positions Minerva as the most powerful maken user due to her ability.
- Unlike the other members of Venus, she appears after the other members had already settled in Tenbi Academy.
- Minerva could be considered the counterpart of Kodama Himegami. Unlike Kodama's serious and temperamental personality, and her envy of girls with large breasts, Minerva is much calmer and has a taste for other girls' large breasts.
- Interestingly, they had a brief confrontation in the tenth episode of the first season of the anime.
- A curious fact is that in her first appearance in the anime ( Episode 07 ), Minerva was reading the first three volumes of the Maken-ki! manga.
- Minerva shares certain similarities with Shaka of Virgo, a character from the famous manga and anime Saint Seiya. Both have calm demeanor's, and their main characteristic is the fact that both have their eyes closed almost all the time. Furthermore, when they open their eyes, they unleash their immense power, and they are considered some of the most powerful characters in their respective series.
